Well, the whole thing is said and done now. The American election is over, it started sometime in the late Triassic and went on for several millenia so I'm kinda glad to see the end of it.

...for at least two years anyway.

Since watching the American news when they're talking politics is an exercise in futility, I spent election night watching five hours of American Top Gear.

'MURICA!

Dear (Canadian) History channel:

Will we be getting Top Gear US season 2? If yes, will it be soon? Watching clips on YouTube is getting old.

With all the excitement of the holiday behind me, I've finally had the chance to finish watching my Top Gear US set.

So cute and silly :3

The extras were very nice, I laughed especially at the story Adam told of his mom calling him up after the first show aired to tell him she liked the UK version better. Ha ha ha, poor guy.

Hey, my Top Gear US set arrived today. Nice.

There are poolside chats, you guys.

Pool. Side.

I succumbed to temptation and bought Top Gear USA season 1 on DVD.

There's extras... and webisodes...

I was weak.

THE TRAILER HAS BEEN DULY SEEN AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SEASON TWO OF TOP GEAR USA VERY MUCH.

Really. I also liked watching the videos on the TG USA homepage of all the practical jokes Rutledge plays on Tanner. That sardines in the air conditioner one was nasty.

Top Gear USA is on tonight.

I am pleased.

After a few episodes of cautious optimism, I'm happy to report that I've fallen completely in love with Top Gear USA.

It was the running moonshine challenge ep that did it. Absolutely loved it.

Just watched my first episode of Top Gear USA.

I quite liked it.

So I just heard that the Top Gear hosts have gone and said something stupid in public again. Naturally, I hit Google to see what they actually said, anticipating an OH U, CLARKSON moment.

What I found was... ugly.

They said a bunch of nasty stuff against Mexicans. I'm not going to repeat it, 'cause it's gross, but if you really want to know, you know where Google is.

This is the thing with Top Gear. 99.9% of the time, it's a great show, and I have fun watching it, but occasionally, it does leave a bitter taste in your mouth. I usually give it a pass though, 'cause the show's made for a different culture and all, and it's unfair to judge, but damn.

Maybe I should be watching Top Gear USA instead.
