Vulcan Love Slave

I mentioned a few days ago that, despite my love of Worf/Dax my Deep Space Nine OTP is unrequited Sisko/Solok.

I wasn't being flip, it really is.

The thing is, there's totally proof for it.* Like, they met in Starfleet Academy, but from Sisko's point of view, he didn't even notice Solok as anything more than just a general dick until the wrestling match they had at the off-campus bar. But! Why would Solok even go in the bar in the first place? He knew there'd be drunk cadets there, and what kind of Vulcan is interested in that?

I'll bet he went cause he knew Sisko would be there and he could goad him into doing something cute foolish. And Sisko rewards him by challenging him to a wrestling match! ...You'd think that would be a little more physical contact than a Vulcan would be comfortable with, but no, Solok's all for it.

And then, after they all graduate and go into Starfleet, every time - every time - Solok writes a paper, he begins with an analysis of that wrestling match. Ha! It's like he's hoping Sisko will see it and remember him or something. (and of course Sisko always reads his papers)

The pièce de résistance comes in the episode itself, he actually bothers to learn baseball and put together a team so he's got an excuse to hang around Sisko some more and act all weirdly pleased when he can make Sisko flip out.

And Benjamin still has no idea he has such an admirer.

Now, I know everyone thinks Solok's just being a dick, but you got to admit, there could be something there. That's a lot of time and effort to put into someone you're just interested in teasing. Maybe 'mastering his emotions' since childhood has left Solok kinda clueless when it comes to dealing with a crush. Especially when it's a one-sided thing.

Seriously, if Sisko had hair, Solok would be pulling it and running away. Their relationship has never evolved beyond the schoolyard.
