Zombie

My family watches a lot of movies when the weather starts getting cold. Like hibernating, except you stay awake (mostly). The big thing with my brother this year is the Star Trek movies. He's re-watching them again, along with some of the shows.

I've seen them, but I never really got into the Original Series movies. The first one was a little arty and slow, and after that they just sort of turned into their own thing. You either liked it, or you didn't.

One thing though, I do think it was a mistake to re-animate Mr. Spock after he died in Star Trek 2. He starts the show as a desperately unhappy individual and blah blah blah space lasers later finds himself and happiness, then he dies to save his friends. That's a pretty good character arc. Very satisfying.

Then they have a film that is basically pulled-it-out-of-our-asses nonsense to bring the character back from the dead. Why? His emotional journey was complete.
