Daddy, Won't You Please Come Home?
I got one of the Bioshock 2 soundtracks. This one is music 'inspired' by the game, so a few of the songs are by different artists than the songs that appeared in the game. It's all old stuff like I Cover The Waterfront, Bei Mir Bis Du Schön, stuff like that.
Anyway, one thing's a little weird: in Bioshock 2 you play as a Big Daddy and the storyline is mainly concerned with your & Eleanor's parent-child relationship and all the songs I thought were cute when I heard a few snippets of them in gameplay, like Daddy, Won't You Please Come Home? and My Heart Belongs To Daddy, are really really creepy now that I hear the whole thing and find out that it's a woman singing to her lover... whom she calls "daddy."
Was that a thing back then, to call your lover daddy?
Weird.
Good album though. It's got some Django Reinhardt on it.
